Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Life Save Foundation ("the foundation", "we", "us") handles information collected through this campaign website. It applies when you visit this page, view the campaign, or initiate a donation. By using this website, you acknowledge the practices described here.
Information We Collect from Website Visitors
When you visit this website, we may automatically collect limited technical information such as your device type, browser type, approximate region (country/region level), referring page, and pages viewed. If you submit information through any future contact form, we will collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and message. We collect only the information that is necessary to respond to you and to operate the campaign.
Payment Information Handled by Razorpay
We do not collect, store, or process your card number, UPI ID, net-banking credentials, or any other full payment instrument details on this website. All payment information is collected and processed directly by Razorpay on its own secure checkout pages, which are PCI-DSS compliant. Razorpay is the payment processor and is responsible for the security of payment data. We only receive a transaction reference and a payment status from Razorpay after you complete (or attempt) a transaction.
Transaction and Donation Records
For each donation, we may receive from Razorpay a transaction reference, the donated amount, the date and time, a payment status, and any contact details you provide at checkout (such as your name and email address). We retain these records to issue donation receipts, respond to refund requests, fulfil our reporting obligations, and maintain the transparency of the campaign. Records are retained according to the foundation's actual record-retention procedures and applicable law.
Meta Pixel and Analytics
This website uses Meta Pixel (Pixel ID 1743747966916528) to measure the effectiveness of this campaign and to understand how visitors interact with the page. The pixel may set a cookie or use device-based signals to recognise your browser. We use it to track standard events such as PageView, ViewContent, and a donation-intent event (such as InitiateCheckout) when you actively begin a checkout. We do not fire a Purchase event merely because a donation button was clicked — a donation is only counted as successful after verified payment confirmation through Razorpay.
For genuine completed donations, the foundation operates a server-side Meta Conversions API integration via a verified Razorpay webhook. When Razorpay confirms a captured payment, the server sends a 'Purchase' event to Meta with the donor's hashed email/phone (where available), the donation amount and currency, and a unique event_id (the Razorpay payment id) for deduplication. Razorpay webhook retries therefore do not double-count donations. No Meta access tokens, app secrets, or Razorpay webhook secrets are exposed in this page's HTML or frontend JavaScript — they live only on the server.
Purpose of Data Processing
We process information for the following purposes: to operate and improve this campaign; to process donations and issue receipts; to respond to enquiries, complaints, and refund requests; to measure and improve the reach and effectiveness of the campaign; to comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations; and to protect the dignity, privacy, and safety of the family this campaign supports.
Service Providers and Necessary Data Sharing
We may share information with service providers who help us operate this campaign — for example, Razorpay (payment processing), Meta (campaign measurement), and our hosting provider (website hosting). These providers process information on our behalf and only for the purposes we instruct. They are responsible for their own data-handling practices under applicable law. We do not sell your personal information.
Security Practices
We take reasonable measures to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. Payment data is handled by Razorpay under its own security standards. However, no method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We do not claim certifications we have not obtained.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described here, to comply with applicable legal, tax, and accounting requirements, and to respond to disputes. Donation and transaction records are retained according to the foundation's actual record-retention policy and applicable law. Analytics and pixel data are retained according to the relevant platform's retention settings.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or to withdraw consent for processing that relies on your consent. To exercise any of these rights, please contact the foundation using the official contact details once published in the Contact section.
Applicable Indian Privacy and Data Protection Laws
This Privacy Policy is interpreted in line with applicable Indian privacy and data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 where applicable, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the relevant rules issued under them. Where any provision is inconsistent with mandatory law, the mandatory law prevails for that provision.
Contact for Privacy Requests
For any privacy-related request, please contact the foundation using the official email address once it has been verified and published in the Verification and Contact sections. Until verified contact details are published, please treat the placeholders in those sections as not yet active.
